AWARD OF THE BURIING OF THE VIA DE VALLBONA, BARCELONA

The construction consists of the burying of the conventional line that connects Barcelona with the French border in the interior. 

The works, commissioned by ADIF, consist of the improvement of 1,520m of conventional track, 720m of which will be buried, through the construction of a concrete box that will be executed using the cut and cover method. 

ROVER GRUPO has acquired a hydromilling machine to execute the screens of said drawer. The screens range from 22 to 35 meters deep and are excavated in rock.

Currently, the R2 commuter line is used by 135,000 users daily. 

The project must be executed while maintaining the railway service, for which the execution of different railway detours is planned.

  • Highlights of the work:
  • 18,000 tons of steel will be placed  
  • More than 100,000m3 of concrete will be poured
  • 50,000m2 of rock screens will be built with a hydromill
