Rover Maritime’s innovative developments reach the “Innovation Radar” portal
Innovation Radar is an initiative of the European Commission to identify high-potential innovations in EU-funded research and innovation projects. The aim is to enable all citizens, civil servants, professionals and businesses to discover the results of EU innovation funding.
The main purpose of the portal is to give visibility and accessibility to the public on EU-funded innovations of high quality projects, thus encouraging the development of a dynamic system of incubators, entrepreneurs, financing agencies, and investors who can help these innovations get to market faster.
Recently, the innovation developed by Rover Maritime in the framework of the project Reshealience “Floating concrete platform for offshore wind turbines based on UHDC (Ultra High Durability Concrete”) has been published on this portal. The publication can be accessed at the following link:

Rover Maritime’s participation in this project has focused on the technical and economic validation of the use of ultra high performance concrete (UHDC) in the construction of floating platforms for offshsore wind turbines replacing steel as a manufacturing material. To carry out this validation, the company developed a pilot structure with this material that is installed in the Port of Sagunto to be able to carry out its monitoring under real conditions of service in marine environment. Since the end of 2020, parameters related to the durability of the material are being monitored, which so far have not revealed any signs of corrosion in the material, despite the aggressiveness of the environment in which it is exposed.
