Project: NOWAVES 4.0
2. SUBJECT OF THE CONTRACT
Object description:
Participation in the project “NOWAVES 4.0” as a subcontracted entity for the execution of the work described below.
2.1. TECHNICAL DETAILS OF THE WORK
The technical and procedural details concerning the execution of the work subject to the contract are developed below.
The team linked to the project must contribute its experience in the tasks to be carried out described in the specification of Subcontracting 1 or 2.
Only those candidates who can fulfill each and every one of the tasks set out in the Specification (Document 2) should be presented.
2.1.1. Project summary
The theme of the project is focused on the real-world validation and marketing of anti-reflective concrete crates for marine works, consisting of cameras with long-distance dissipative circuits, suitable for reducing the agitation produced by the reflected swell in port docks, improving the effectiveness of Jarlan type structures (ARJ), by improving the energy absorption capacity over a wide range of wave frequencies, including long wave. This can be achieved through the automatic or programmable adaptability of camera geometry (circuits extending horizontally along different directions of several interconnected cell units without changing the width of the anti-reflective zone) to different situations of the incident swell by means of mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic devices.
The development of a full-scale prototype of an anti-reflective drawer capable of absorbing energy from a wide range of wave frequencies is a pioneering and necessary action to certify the validity of this technology in improving shelter conditions in port docks, both from the point of view of operability and accessibility to ports
As complementary objectives of the project are established the measurement of waves under normal operating conditions in the vicinity of the installation and in the vicinity of the nozzle, the adaptability of the geometry of the chambers to different wave situations, the measurement of possible low-frequency waves and calibration of numerical simulation models of agitation from prototype measured data.
The project aims to obtain a new, innovative product that responds to a problem currently existing in ports around the world, which is the decrease of internal agitation of their docks, both for short-wave and long-wave waves, something that affects port loading and unloading operations but also recreational vessel operations.
At the moment, there is no technology that has solved and verified this problem worldwide with the solution of vertical crates of reinforced concrete, as the most competitive solution in terms of costs and environmental impact for the construction of ports. At the national level, some pilot constructions have been carried out, based on a Jarlan, as they have deep openings that obviously improve behavior but in a very low frequency range and are not adaptable to the incident wave, are of fixed response or limited by their conception of paths only transversal and short.
In addition, the NoWaves technology is the only one worldwide that allows addressing the long-wave problem, and can also make compatible the long wave and the short wave in the same drawer, thus having a self-configurable dissipative element for any type of incident wave.
The NoWaves technology is the only anti-reflection technology that is patented at a European level.
In order to achieve the project objectives, a work plan has been drawn up that includes the following phases:
- State of technology analysis
- Study of the location to carry out the prototype
- Instrumentation and measurements of the incoming wave characteristics at the nozzle, in the dock where the prototype will be part, in the vicinity of the prototype and on the prototype itself.
- Intelligent prediction model, to model numerically and using artificial intelligence procedures a mixed agitation-reflection prediction system
- Anti-reflective drawer prototype design
- Construction and operation of the prototype anti-reflective drawer
- result analysis
