The Horizon 2020 ReSHEALience project, coordinated by Politecnico di Milano, sees the light at the Innovation House in Dubai.
Rover Maritime and other partners of the ReSHEALience project were invited to participate in the wind THE CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CONTRIBUTION TO DECARBONIZATION 2050 TARGET, on 4 November 2021 at the Innovation House Dubai, within the framework of Universal Expo.
In this event, promoted by the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano Regione Lombardia and the Politecnico di Milano, was presented to the parties, both in person and on-line, the vision of the ReSHEALience project on the construction industry’s contribution to decarbonization goals.
The presentation of Rover Maritime, by Cristina Suesta from the R&D department, discussed the company’s contribution to sustainability in the construction and energy sector through the design and development of a prototype floating concrete platform for offshore wind turbines based on ultra-high durability concrete, with a longer service life compared to steel platforms and lower manufacturing and maintenance costs.
Also presented at the same event were the other pilot programs developed in the ReSHEALience project: water basin in a geothermal energy production plant (Enel Green Power, Italy), floating concrete baton for mussels (RDC, Spain), floating pontoon from Italy (Banagher Precast Concrete, Ireland) and concrete water tower rehabilitation (University of Malta). In addition, the event featured presentations that showed the perspective of industrial and professional shareholders such as Buzzi Unicem, Hinfra, RIMOND, RILEM and ACI Middle East (TBC).
Thanks to the support organization ACI UAE Chapter, ACI Middle East and RILEM Association and the sponsorship of Penetron and Politecnico DICA that have contributed greatly to the success of the event.
