Rover is carrying out part of the new judicial complex in Madrid, which will be “the largest in the world”, a city of justice of almost 470,000 square meters. A total of 26 sites housed in this large complex, whose investment is 653 million euros. This is a project and work based on the statement of requirements of the contracting authority, the Community of Madrid. Once the design phase was successfully completed and approved by the client, last Thursday, October 16, to start the construction phase, the first stone was laid and an oak tree was planted as a symbol of justice.

The event was chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid, and José Luis Martínez Almeida, mayor of the capital. Rover was also present at the event as one of the winning companies for the first lot, since the construction of the complex is divided into two sections. In the first lot will be the most representative buildings, corresponding to the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid, the Provincial Hearings, multipurpose administrative services and an underground parking.  This project has been awarded to the consortium formed by Rover Grupo, OHLA and Azvi, with a budget of 195 million euros.

The City of Justice of Madrid will be four times larger than the Court of Justice of Paris, housing more than 30,000 working people daily. Its opening is scheduled for 2029, and the construction machinery is already in operation. The new City of Justice will have 470,000 square meters, of which 40,000 will be green areas, modern and smart buildings, and a large 13,500 square meter plaza with a large fountain.

The works have just started, but the Rover team has been working hard and dedicated for some time in the Project phase together with Estudio Lamela, Qube and Ingeniería Torné as drafters of the same, to build the new Justice house of the capital. There is still a long way to go, now it’s time to materialize what was written and worked on the paper all these months, so we send our encouragement to our staff involved in the work, undoubtedly the best prepared to carry out this type of complex tenders. Also, the bidding team did a great job presenting the Rover project for selection. By 2029, our staff will show their ability to work in a team and the talent we have.
