WindPorts
WINDPORTS is a R&D project whose main objective is the development and structural verification of the adequacy of reinforced concrete crates, which are common in the construction of infrastructure for dockside docks or dock works, to train them to house wind farms in port areas.
To date, several wind farms have been installed in port shelter works around the world, but always on embankments at the bottom. The main novelty proposed by the project is the installation and foundation of wind turbines on vertical docks built using concrete marine frames.
Multidisciplinary teams of our companies certified in the UNE 166.002 standard: Rover Group, Cyes Maritime Works and Ambling, develop numerous research, development and innovation projects.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT
In the framework of this project, the characteristics of the wind turbine have been determined considering the wind resource in various locations of the national territory (Valencia, Bilbao, Tenerife). Based on the wind turbine data, the loads acting on the crate were calculated as a step prior to the development of a new model of marine crate with circular cells expressly designed to be able to accommodate the foundation of a wind turbine. The possibility of modifying existing drawers has also been considered so that this modification allows the installation of wind turbines meeting the necessary requirements.
“DEVELOPMENT OF NEW CONCRETE CRATES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DOCKS DIKES INTENDED FOR THE LOCATION OF WIND FARMS – WINDPORTS” is an R&D project developed during 2018-2019 supported by IVACE within the Program of R&D Projects in Cooperation with co-financing from the ERDF funds of the Valencia Community 2014-2020.
