Aicedrone Rail

The AICEDRONE system is an AI-based tool that automates and improves civil engineering work by combining image recognition algorithms, drone-mounted sensors, and high-performance computing.

 

The project has developed a software tool capable of detecting and digitally modeling the various construction units and elements in 3D. This allows for the georeferencing of the various construction sections for monitoring and control throughout all phases of execution.

 

To achieve this, artificial intelligence techniques have been combined with the geomatics constraints of photogrammetric models and drone-based computer vision technology, utilizing the latest photogrammetric camera and LiDAR sensor technology.

Rover Infraestructuras has validated AICEDRONE in its application to road construction, achieving complete modeling with geometric classification of road markings on an actual construction site.

 

The project has been selected by the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in the only national R&D call for proposals funded by Next Generation EU funds in the field of AI applied to national productive sectors.

The project was carried out by ROVER in collaboration with the University of Castilla-La Mancha, with funding provided by the Spanish State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence through the NextGenerationEU European funds.
