Nowaves

NoWaves, a registered trademark of Rover Maritime, is based on the development of a patented technology aimed at reducing wave reflection in any port infrastructure and for any type (frequency) of wave conditions.

This technology enables the tailor‑made design of an anti‑reflection system, optimized for specific site conditions, thereby maximizing its effectiveness. Through the construction of concrete caissons with interconnected cells, internal circuits are created that reduce waves of very different frequencies, including long or resonant waves.

The NoWaves technology has been validated through laboratory testing by highly recognized scientific institutions, such as the Polytechnic University of Valencia (small‑scale testing at 1:36) and CEDEX (large‑scale testing at 1:12), yielding the following results:

  • A minimum reflection coefficient of approximately 30%, corresponding to up to 7 times greater efficiency
  • Unique capability to attenuate long‑period waves and harbor resonance phenomena
  • Up to 50% reduction in overtopping when applied to breakwaters

Advantages of NoWaves Technology in Coastal Integration and Sustainability

With NoWaves technology, a reduction in the visual impact of the structure is achieved, improving the urban landscape from the coastline. It also enhances vessel operability and reduces both environmental and economic costs due to the lower material consumption compared to a traditional rubble mound breakwater.
