Resheliance

The RESHEALIENCE project is developing a new cement-based material with exceptional mechanical properties and vastly superior durability for use in highly demanding environments such as marine settings.

 

This European initiative, funded by the European Union under the H2020 programme, brings together 14 organisations from 9 countries and has a budget of over 5 million euros.

The project has developed a new cement-based material known as UHDC concrete, which offers five times the strength of conventional concrete and durability between 10 and 100 times greater. All these properties have been tested and verified at world-leading universities and technology centres participating in the international project.

Rover Maritime co-leads the project and heads up the industrial aspect, implementing one of the three pilot demonstration projects for this material, designed for maritime applications. The pilot project, installed in the Port of Sagunto, has been monitored for several years to assess its performance under the harsh conditions of the marine environment, yielding outstanding results.

This breakthrough offers a more sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional steel solutions, which are often more expensive and harmful to the environment.
