Windstore
“Winds‑Store is a project focused on the development of a system for wind energy generation with integrated storage capacity for application in offshore infrastructure,” carried out by a group of companies and institutions from the Valencian Community, led by Rover Maritime, with funding from the Valencian Innovation Agency under the Strategic Cooperative Projects program. The project has a total execution budget of approximately €700,000.
The objective is the design and development of a concrete infrastructure for offshore wind turbines that incorporates an energy storage system for the renewable energy generated, ensuring a constant supply to the grid during periods with no wind.
To achieve this, the following innovations have been proposed:
Seabed study:
Measurement and analysis of the seabed and subsoil through the combination and integration of electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and ground‑penetrating radar (GPR).
Infrastructure design and integration with the storage system:
Lightweight, high‑performance infrastructure through the use of ultra‑high‑performance concrete (UHPC).
Energy storage system:
When energy demand increases, the stored energy is released through a turbine that generates electricity.
Addressing regulatory challenges in port environments.
