Valle de la Serena Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
The purpose of this project is the execution and commissioning of the infrastructure required for the proper treatment of all wastewater discharges from the municipality of Valle de la Serena (Badajoz).
Due to the specific characteristics of the sewerage system, which is divided into two catchment areas—a main basin collecting 97% of the discharges and a secondary basin collecting the remaining 3%—the solution adopted consists of a main wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and a compact WWTP for the secondary discharge.
Main WWTP:
- Construction of a new inlet sewer with a length of 2,050 m
- Overflow structure
- Construction of a new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP)
- Outlet sewer
- Medium-voltage power line for energy supply to all facilities
- Potable water connection
- Photovoltaic plant for energy self-supply
Compact WWTP:
A fully buried installation has been designed, ensuring low visual impact and reduced operation and maintenance costs, while meeting treatment requirements. It includes:
- Inlet sewer
- Overflow structure and pre-treatment with manual screening
- Grease chamber
- Compact biological reactor–clarifier module
- Flow measurement and sampling chamber
- Control and electrical equipment module, including communication with the main WWTP and integration into its SCADA system
