New award: AVE platform in the Loja variant, Granada
Rover has been awarded the new high-speed platform in the Loja variant, in which Adif will invest €283 million. A section of 7.9 kilometers designed with high speed parameters.
The aim of this new section is to reduce travel times in the railway connection with Granada. Also, it has been designed to overcome a river and a valley, making the journey more efficient and direct.
The layout includes three unique infrastructures that concentrate a substantial part of the performance.
-
- The tunnel of the Cerro de los Limones, with an approximate length of 1.3 kilometers.
-
- The 724-metre Genil Viaduct, which will save the Genil River and the A-92 motorway.
-
- The viaduct of Salar, with 693 meters, the shortest of the section, which will cross the valley of the arroyo del Salar, adjacent buildings and the road A-4155.
The project has been designed to ensure the protection of the Cultural Interest Property of the Villa Romana de Salar. It is expected to integrate the new railway section with the heritage environment of the area. In addition, the route will improve the connection with Granada by helping the tourist flow to visit the Roman Villa
From Rover, we want to congratulate the team that made this award possible. Also wish the greatest success in the execution of the works of the various infrastructures that make up the new AVE platform in the Loja variant. We will publish progress on the work to update the milestones that the construction team is reaching.
