Rover Maritime achieves environmental certification for its eco-sustainable concrete with recycled glass waste and a reduced carbon footprint
Rover, in its strategy of diversification, wants to take advantage of the excellent situation of the sector, also accompanied by the determined commitment of all the administrations for green and sustainable energy. The new business area is composed of a multidisciplinary team with more than 25 years of experience in the sector, developing, building and operating renewable energy projects.
Rover Energia has started the construction of the “Energy modernization project through solar photovoltaic in the irrigable area of Zújar (Badajoz)” for the State Commercial Society of Agricultural Infrastructures, S.A. (SEIASA), having previously built for this same body the photovoltaic installation of the Casinos’ fencing community.
This project aims to replace the consumption of conventional energy sources by self-consumption of renewables, for which Rover is building in UTE along with Tecmosa and Ambling two photovoltaic plants, highlighting the uniqueness that one of them uses the surface of the water sheet of the raft of the Community of Regantes del Zújar.
The plant above the reservoir is composed of solar panels installed on 3,620 floating modules occupying a total of 13,172 m2. While the plant on the ground is composed of 2,640 modules installed on prefabricated concrete.
In total, both plants will add 3.7 megawatts of installed capacity for self-consumption, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of 1,500 homes and implies an annual saving of 750 tons of CO2 emissions.
This project is part of the expansion of the Rover business line for renewable energy development and construction.
