Rover inaugurated the Avenida Alsacia in Bogotá (Colombia)
On April 10, in Bogotá, Rover inaugurated the Avenida Guayacanes, section 3. a work that is characterized by its impact on the community and which involves an investment of more than 38 million euros. The project includes the construction of 2.75 km of three-lane asphalted road, including the construction, adaptation and standardization of hydraulic networks (drinking water and sanitary), grid and dry networks (telematics).
The avenue, 2.75 kilometers long, is located on Street 12 between Route 82A and Transversal 71B, and will directly benefit about 150,000 inhabitants, connecting more than 130 neighborhoods of the towns of Kennedy and Bosa and, Most importantly, it will improve pedestrian and urban mobility for more than three million residents throughout the city, who daily use the main road network of Boyacá Avenue.
The avenue, 36.5 meters wide, has sidewalks of 6 meters. The road is two lanes, each containing three lanes. Both roadways are separated by a central median of 5.50 meters where runs a bidirectional bike lane of 3.10 meters and two lateral green areas, one 0.80 and the other 1.60 m, on which trees and green areas are located.
The execution of the avenue Alsace includes the construction of two parallel bridges of more than 276 meters located at the crossroads with the avenue Alsace (street 12) and the avenue Boyacá (carrera 72). One of them includes a pedestrian crossing, while the other offers continuity of the bike lane. Both bridges will be built on two roadways with a central separator with green areas.
It also includes, among others, the construction of the Urbisa Park – equipped with a basketball court, outdoor gym and playground for children.
This is a project that will favor the conditions and quality of life of residents in the area, as well as passersby, pedestrians and cyclists, since it will oxygenate the city’s arteries, mainly reducing travel times between the west and the city center. In addition, this project will allow to revert two of the most affected locations by pollution in Bogotá.
This is a comprehensive project of great magnitude, which also seeks to generate healthy lifestyle habits, encouraging sports and environmental care with the inclusion of the bike lane.
